As military families, we are very familiar with time apart from our service member. We’re used to missed birthdays, holidays and anniversaries. It comes with the territory.
With Thanksgiving coming up, it’s natural for us to think of others, especially for those that make us thankful for what we have. We can’t leave out our loved ones that have to spend the holiday away, serving our country. I’m lucky to be married to a special soldier and have a retired airmen as a father. We learn to never take the little things for granted.
Last year, my husband and I were lucky to spend the day and whole Thanksgiving weekend together. We drove up to Gettysburg and spent our time commemorating the great battle that was fought there. This year, it’s actually up in the air whether or not he will be working for Thanksgiving. Our plans are on halt till he gets word, which I’m keeping my fingers crossed will be soon!
That’s why I’m pumped to be sharing with you an amazing opportunity from La Brea Bakery. They are hosting a contest that will deliver Thanksgiving meals to your hero that has to work on Thanksgiving day.
From flat breads to baguettes or rounds to rolls, La Brea Bakery offers tasty artisan breads that are sold in thousands of different retail outlets from coast-to-coast. I love that my local grocery store, literally down the road from me carries their breads. Check out their story and find where you can find them by going here at: labreabakery.com.

Five lucky finalists will receive fully catered meals on Thanksgiving hand delivered courtesy of La Brea Bakery.
