ProArmyWifeNewBlogSo, in an effort to really fill-up any free time I have, I decided to make the big change from Blogger to WordPress! I’ve already been using WordPress in my last job and I also designed my professional website with it (in addition to using the platform for practically all my writing assignments). I just thought it would just streamline everything to have both my blog and professional portfolio website on WordPress and match too!

Well, the digital journey began when I had to point my name servers, which I had through Enom on Google. It messed up my email for a day or so, but it seems like we’re back up and running! I’m still not really done because I eventually want to just move everything on one platform (i.e. not have my domain name and hosting service be the same organization). I have a completely different hosting service for my professional website — and I just want everything to be in one place! This is what I get for doing everything piecemeal.

Anyway, slowly but surely, I’ll have everything where I want it to be. Also, I’m doing everything myself, so the process has been taking me a bit longer than I’d like. I haven’t had the time to really start working on it till now — and I really have much more to do. I have to go back through my old posts, etc. I’m looking forward to seeing the old stuff that I’ve written, especially because I started this blog when my husband was overseas. A lot has happened since then!

I really appreciate everyone baring with me as I transition. This past week has just been incredibly BUSY! I help coordinated an awesome webinar that was aimed to help property managers market to the military. We had an AMAZING panel lined up (including some very fabulous military spouses) and it just went great! Honestly, I didn’t have much time to do anything else this past week! What happens when you work from home? You don’t need to go outside at all. Yesterday, I realized I haven’t been outside since Monday!

Besides that, I’ve been organizing my TDY bucket list. I actually went out and got my hair done today. Can I tell you how nice it felt to have someone else shampoo my hair?! Next on the list, my weekend trip to New York City! I leave tomorrow — and I’m thrilled to be able to see my friends there. Plus, we’re watching a Yankee game. Woot, woot!

On that note, I should finish up packing.

Any exciting weekend plans for you?

  1. Awesome! If I knew what I was doing, I might switch. But my HTML skills are very limited.
